The North Hampton Fire Department is proud to house one of the few mobile command/cascade system units in Northern Allegheny County. Air 2 serves as a mobile command center providing incident commanders an enclosed environment for large scale incidents. Air 2 also features a 6 cylinder cascade system which allows the department to fill SCBA cylinders on scene, as well as a telescoping light tower for scene lighting. This unit is designed to provide an easier means of managing an incident as well as providing a service to firefighters. Air 2 also has a laptop computer with First Look Pro, an incident mapping and pre-planning software, allowing the officer to map out directions and help with incident management.

The squad is designed as a support unit for our engines and quint. It houses various tools to compliment the other apparatus. It is also used as a personnel carrier for incidents and fire department business.

The Command Unit allows our Chief and other Line Officers to quickly respond to incident scenes in order to establish command and direct incoming fire apparatus. Included among the assortment of equipment in the Command Unit, is a laptop computer with First Look Pro software which, provides incident location mapping and pre-planning capabilities. The Command also has various hand tools and a complement of scene safety equipment.
